Partial Solar Eclipse | Special Event
On Tuesday, 17 February 2026, skywatchers in South Africa will have the rare opportunity to observe a Partial Solar Eclipse, when the Moon moves in front of the Sun, partially blocking its light.
Join us as we turn our attention to our very own star, the Sun. Vic will be bringing along his telescopes, all safely fitted with solar filters, allowing you to observe the Sun up-close and in detail. If sunspots are present on the day, you’ll be able to see them clearly through Vic's telescopes - some sunspots are astonishingly large, often comparable in size to Earth!
Bonus: Every ticket holder will receive a FREE pair of Solar Viewing Glasses, enabling you to safely view the eclipse directly as it unfolds.
You’ll also have the chance to take photos of the Sun using your phone through a telescope, capturing this special celestial event.
The event will be hosted at the beautiful Casalinga Function Venue in Muldersdrift, providing a relaxed and scenic setting for this unforgettable experience.
Space is limited, so be sure to book your tickets early!
Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Tickets: R180 per person (includes a FREE pair of Solar Viewing Glasses).
